The harvests of cocoa Santo Domingo are small but high quality ones. The variety of cocoa grown is mainly Trinitario, the caribbean cocoa par excellence, with intense and fruity aromas. The cultivation is concentrated in the northern Cibao valley, one of the most northern cocoa farming.

Ecuador is with Perú the country of origin of cocoa tree, in its amazonian region, the first place where native people started to use this fruit and to grow the tree. Today the plantations are located in the Pacific region, in particular in Manabi. The Ecuador native variety is called Nacional.

The cultivation of cocoa in Perù is located in the Amazonian side of the Andes, in the valleys of some Amazon tributaries considered the cradle of cocoa tree. In this area there is the highest cocoa biodiversity of the world with desease-resistant varieties. Perù, although it has a long tradition of cultivation, is now considered a rising star among cocoa producers, thanks to the high quality, sustainability and biological harvesting.
